Title: Compare and Contrast Grandparent

Grade Level: 5th

Materials:

Venn Diagram

Pencil

Activity: This activity will actually be completed the day the grandparent is at school visiting.  Together the student and their grandparent will sit down and complete the Venn diagram together.  This will give the students and grandparent the opportunity to find out things they have in common and how they differ. Students will also be able to see what physical characteristics they may have inherited from that grandparent-such as hair and eye color.

Objectives: Students will work cooperatively with their grandparent to complete a Venn diagram comparing grandchild to grandparent.  It is an excellent way of using a graphic organizer and also a good way for students to become more familiar with their grandparent.
